About your instructor:
Vanessa is an Australian-born Ugandan dancer and storyteller, raised in Texas. With a passion for Afro dance, traditional West African rhythms, and commercial dance, she brings a rich blend of cultures to her craft.
Trained in modern dance, lyrical, and Texan high-kick lines through drill team, Vanessa continues to develop her unique approach and flow. She thrives in spaces that honour culture, expression, and energy, inspiring others to move with freedom and authenticity.
Vanessa is a performer with Asanti Dance Theatre, a group dedicated to showcasing the richness of African culture through movement. She loves exploring new movement languages and connecting with audiences, making every performance an opportunity for cultural exchange and personal expression.
