About
Join us for a June takeover! Our Double Trouble Month has been thought to give exposure to different dance artists, different dance styles and combinations.
Our first duo is the trailblazing Culture Queenz!
About your instructors:
Culture Queenz is a dynamic dance duo and mentorship program based in Melbourne (Naarm), led by Simone and Karabo—two vibrant artists rooted in Afro, Dancehall, and street dance culture.
Simone, a Thai-Seychellois dancer born in Melbourne, brings a unique flavour within Afro House and Dancehall.
Karabo, born in Botswana and raised in Zimbabwe and New Zealand, takes a deep focus on Amapiano and Afro styles. Together, they are known for their expressive energy, cultural depth, and powerful stage presence.
Since joining forces at Jungle City Studios, they’ve mentored the all-female youth crew Culture Queenz, guiding young dancers from diverse backgrounds in building confidence, authenticity, and cultural pride. Their teaching blends strong foundations with community spirit, seen in performances at major festivals like Moomba and St Kilda, and collaborations with platforms like Generation Sportsgirl.
All are welcome, from starters to more experienced dancers, all age groups and genders will gain something from this workshop!
